However, last Monday there was a light at the end of the tunnel! I hit 249 on the scale! It’s back in the lower 250s, but I’m thinking that’s because of my flex points splurge that I had on Sunday evening.

I’m back to working out 4-5 times/week.

Here’s what my planned schedule is:

Monday: Super Fit class (mix of kickboxing, plyometrics, circuits, hip hop dance and ab rippers)

Tuesday: Weight Training and 30 minutes of cardio

Wednesday: Super Fit class

Thursday: Break

Friday: Weight Training and 30 minutes of cardio

Saturday: Weight Training and 30 minutes of cardio

Sunday: Break

I also am giving up any coffee. I usually have 1-2 cups/week depending on tiredness but it’s not worth it. I’m not sure if it’s hindering on weight loss, but I’m giving it up.

Also, Chick Fil A ice cream is yummy but also evil. I’ll only eat this 1-2 times/week now, because I used to have it everyday!! PURE evil!

I weighed myself on Friday and I was 252.5 lbs. I decided that I’m going to go back to workouts 4-5 times/week, as well as a weekly food related challenge.

This week? Give up ice cream. I love ice cream and it contributes to a large amount of my calorie intake for the day, so I will say no to ice cream.

I have a goal of 3-4 lbs. weight loss to bring me back to the 240’s. I worked so hard to get there and I want to get back! :)

Nice birthday gifts!

My 25th birthday was yesterday. Yep, a full quarter century old!

I got a really good gift set from my mom over the weekend that I can definitely use from day to day for my healthy lifestyle.

While perusing the books, I found an interesting Eat This, Not That excertp from McD’s. Did you know that the Quarter Pounder (minus cheese/mayo) is over 100 less calories than the Grilled Chicken Club sandwich?? I always thought Grilled Chicken sandwiches were a given DUH for health. Wow…

I can’t wait to read these books and share some cool finds on here! In the meantime, here is an article from the author of the “Eat This, Not That” series about the 20 Worst Foods in America. Prepare to learn something new today…these calorie counts are UNBELIEVABLE!

Noticing a little gain…

It’s amazing what a difference 3 lbs. makes! I was recently on the last loop of my 22/24 belt and this past week, I really let myself go. I’m back to the second to last loop, and I just feel sluggish!

The old me would say eff it! I’m 252 lbs. (was 249 at my lowest). The positive thing is I’m not back at 264 lbs. I can STILL do this!

I follow Ash Is Fit’s blog on my Google Reader, because like her, I need to lose 100 lbs., we are about the same age and she is just inspirational to me! She is hosting a 20 week challenge on her blog, and as you can see on my sidebar, I joined.

I’ll be sharing with you my step by step plan as outlined by her in her blog, and I’m LOVING the ideas she is using so far! :) I can’t wait for Friday’s WI!

Progress in inches!

It’s been 7 weeks since I’ve been on Weight Watchers and working out. I wanted to show y’all the progress I’ve made. I took my measurements in early January and then took them this morning as well. Here’s the results!

Chest (without the ladies): Before: 45″ Current: 43.25″

Waist: Before: 48.75″ Current: 47″

Hips: Before: 54.5″ Current: 51.5″

Thigh (avg. of left/right): Before: 29″ Current: 27.5″

Bicep (avg.): Before: 15″ Current: 14.5″

I went to circuits class on Wednesday night, and my quads are so sore that I have reduced myself to waddling instead of walking. I remember telling myself that I would never get so large that my walk would turn into a waddle, however, it seems that circuits and my body have gotten the best of me this time. :\

I’ll weigh in on Monday with those results and a new post! Have a great weekend!!

Oh, and if you’re watching the Oscars on Sunday and want to give yourself a little workout during the awards show, FitSugar has a good plan for you!

It’s been a while…

I’m sure I’ve been deleted off of many Google readers and I’m really sorry for that. New Years came and of course, the ritual weight loss plan came to mind. Something a little different happened this time, however, and that’s why I’m back here.

I’ve been loyal to my new lifestyle for the past 6 weeks, and I’m here to say that I’m down 16 lbs. It’s a great amount and I just feel so accomplished so far. I started at a not-so-sexy 265 lbs. and I’m right now barely in the 240s at 249 lbs.

Here’s what changed…I joined the YMCA on January 5th. I remember just running the track for a little bit, and decided after 20 minutes, I did way more than enough for a workout. As I was walking around, I noticed a computer where people were logging their workouts. So, on the way out, I asked the front desk lady about the computer. She told me a meeting about it was starting in 5 minutes. So, I walked in sweaty and gross, sat through the orientation with one of the fitness trainers and made an appointment to enroll in Fitlinxx.

What I didn’t realize in my excitement was the criteria to enroll in Fitlinxx. I had to do a fitness assessment with the trainer there, and from then on, she’d give me a workout plan to stick to. I thought, ok, assessment, no big deal. I can run 60 seconds non-stop…I SO got this!

Uhm, I was wrong. WAY WAY wrong. Let’s just put it that way. I was asked by the trainer how I thought I could do an hour of workouts when I couldn’t even climb steps for 3 minutes non-stop. It was very discouraging and while she meant well, it really hurt to hear that. From then on, I started a workout regime that I do at least twice/week. In great weeks, I go 5x/week. It’s great to make the gym part of my life now, and it’s even cooler when I see the results of my work!

For example, I got this surprise email last week from Fitlinxx diagramming my workouts from last month in a real life way! For the month of January, I lifted 3.7 African Elephants worth of weights and worked off 21 ice cream sundaes! Pretty cool right?

As for diet, I’m sticking to Weight Watchers. It’s a good plan and allows me to splurge once in a while, when I want to.

Stay tuned…measurement progress in my next post! :)

I’ll admit it….

Geez…it’s been a month since I blogged on here.

I’ll keep it quick though…I gained back up to 264.9. I haven’t cared much about my diet, if at all. Simply put, the economy, wedding stress, and now, the dentist is on my hate list. TWO CROWNS AND A ROOT CANAL…talk about physical and wallet pain :( .

So, I’ll be blogging on here more often, I promise. The entries will be short for now…I’m concentrating on moving and starting a new job. I’ll be around though :) . Stay tuned!

..and I’m so sorry for that. It’s been really rough since I last posted. In case you didn’t realize, I’m from southern Louisiana, and we recently were affected by two men that aren’t my friends, Gustav and Ike. Forget naming a future baby boy that! (I’m not pregnant by the way, just sayin’)

I haven’t been to W/W meetings in weeks because my particular meeting center was closed. :( I’m going to try to go to another center near my work and weigh-in to face the facts. My home scale wasn’t showing a gain or a loss, so that’s a good sign. However, we will see…

I told myself I wanted to lose 15 by Turkey Day. I still very much so have that goal set, and it’s still a good possibility that I will reach it!! I have about two months to do so! :D

I just wanted to check in and let everyone know that no one I directly knew sustained damage from the two storms, which is a way better outcome than what happened post Katrina. Just a few limbs down, power out for a while…the usual.

Hope everyone is having a SPECTACULAR Friday! Here’s to a great weekend! :D

Three men affected my weight loss efforts for the bad…

  1. Ben
  2. Jerry
  3. Gustav

Thanks to these men, my flex points are gone. It all started with a hurricane named Gustav…see, he threatened my city of New Orleans with his presence (still threatening by the way)..and well, this is 3 years past Katrina. We don’t need this, so I turned to Ben & Jerry …thanks to these men, I felt better for about 30 minutes and ate 30 points worth of ice cream.

Ahh…such is life..TURN AWAY GUSTAV!

Week 3 Results!!!

Down 2 lbs!! YAY!!

I also measured myself tonight..here are the results…
